Committees |
FLE consists of 6 different committees, each led by a counselor. Every freshman is placed into their committees based on their preferences. These committees allow freshmen to interact with members and staff in smaller groups and help FLE facilitate events throughout the year.
2019-2020 Committees
- College Relations- The College Relations Committee's main goal is to connect members with faculty and other organizations in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. They facilitate networking events within the college such as National Ag Day, Research Week, and provide monthly experiences for freshmen within our college.
- Communications- The Communications Committee strives to connect, inform, and engage members through the use of various social media platforms. They are in charge of maintaining FLE's brand and help the organization, its partners, and the surrounding community. Overall, they create the message and help spread it.
- Development- The Development Committee is in charge of planning events to initiate the growth of members professionally, including expanding the student's Aggie Network and teaching skills that will translate into post-graduation endeavors. Over the year, they will be hosting faculty socials, creating a professional starter kit, and identifying "First Year Friendly" professors.
- Leadership- The Leadership Committee is tasked with developing curriculum for meetings where freshmen develop and refine their skills. Over the year, they assist freshmen in creating a vision for their leadership. The main things they focus on is a Leadership Certificate, planning meetings, as well as other leadership activities.
- Outreach- The Outreach Committee provides civic engagement for our freshman. The service they organize is a way for us to extend our talents and time to others around us. By giving back to the community, we can give purpose to and improve upon our own skills while providing valuable services to others. This year, they will plan various community service events and help with an annual standing service project in the surrounding area.
- Social- The Social Committee focuses on building relationships amongst freshmen. They are what makes our organization feel like a family and organize events that encourage members to get to know each other and further develop skills. This year they will focus on creating smaller events for freshmen, hosting study hours, and much more.
